Manchester United back for Reanto Sanches as Bayern name their price

Bayern Munich are open to selling Renato Sanches this summer and have already lined up his replacement, according to reports in Germany.

Kicker claims that if the German champions receive a €35 million (£29.5m) offer for the 19-year-old, which is the amount they have paid Benfica for the transfer so far, then he would be able to leave.

Bayern already have lined up Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka as a potential replacement, and the 22-year-old would be available for a cut-price fee as his contract will have only one year remaining on it this summer.

The midfielder has admitted that he has been unhappy with his debut campaign in Germany but has insisted that he wants to stay with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

‘It was not very good, but the next season is sure to be better,’ he said earlier this week.

‘I was expecting more, of course, but I’m confident that the future will be better.

‘I had a few minutes this season and I have to play to be more and more prepared. I do not want to talk about that [what has gone wrong], I feel good at Bayern. The goal is to play more and be more influential in the team.’

Jose Mourinho has also suggested that Sanches made a mistake in signing for Bayern and admitted that he wanted the 22-year-old at Old Trafford this season.

‘I arrived late, I signed in May, we started talking a week before, but completely out of the process. If I had arrived earlier, I’d fight for him,’ the United manager said in April.

‘Manchester United watched Renato many times and maybe I did it even more. In so much time at home, I watched many Benfica and Portuguese league games, I got to know the boy better with time.

‘He’s in a a big club, in a league where he’ll certainly be the champion.

‘The club have players of very high level which belong to the structure, a little like Benfica.’
