CAFCL: Nigerian champions one step in the next round after win against Eding Sports FC
Nigeria’s Professional Football League champions, Plateau United FC have taken a big step into the next round of the 2018 CAF champions league after a convincing 3-0 victory over Eding Sports FC of Cameroun on Sunday at the Jos International Stadium.
The home team went ahead in the 2oth minute of the game when Elijah scored from the spot kick. Ingbede and Joshua Obaje added two late goals for the Tin City boys to put them in a good chance of making it to the next round when they travel to Cameroon.
Ingbede scored in the 85th minute while Joshua Obaje’s goal came in in the injury time.
The Nigeria champions will be heading to Cameroon full of confidence on the 21st of February at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaoundé.
If they pull through, up next for Plateau United is multiple champions Étoile du Sahel. The first leg will be played in Tunisia between 6–7 March while the return leg will be played in Jos between 16–18 March.
