Stephen Eze completes move to Lokomotiv Plovdiv, reveals Russia 2018 ambitions

CHAN Eagles defender Stephen Eze has completed his move from Kano Pillars to Bulgarian giants Lokomotiv Plovdiv for an undisclosed fee.

The 6 feet tall defender was officially unveiled by his new club on Thursday after taking a break from football following Nigeria’s final place participation at the just concluded African Nations Championship in Morroco where Eze and co lost 4-0 in the final.

The former Sunshine Stars defender expressed his happiness at joining the Bulgarian outfit and promised to help the team achieve its goals this season.

“I am happy to be a part of a big club like Lokomotiv Plovdiv, and I can not wait to make my debut for the team, and I will do all my best to make this great club go forward.”

Stephen Eze who also played for Ifeanyiubah also revealed his world cup ambitions. Stephen Eze who played all the games for the Home-based Eagles, and was selected as one of the players of tournament explained that he hoped he had convinced Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr with his display in Morocco.

“Playing the African Nations Championship and representing your national team there is a great honor for me. A dream for every footballer is to play a final of such rank. Unfortunately, we lost from Morocco, but I had the opportunity to compete alongside strong and proven players, and I also had a lot of experience. I hope that with my good games for Nigeria I can participate in the World Championship in Russia in June.

“I’m glad I have two friends from Nigeria in the squad – Mohammed Musa and Mustafa Abdullah. They will help me get used to the situation, ” said the player at lokomotivpd.com.

Lokomotiv Plovdiv are currently placed 9th in the Bulgarian top flight with 23 points from 20 games.
