Warriors remain unbeaten go 23-0, LeBron leads Cavs

The Golden State Warriors overcame the Indiana Pacers 131-123 as they improved to 23-0 to start the NBA season.

Tuesday’s eight-point margin was not a true reflection of proceedings after the Warriors led 111-83 at the start of the final quarter in Indianapolis.

Klay Thompson starred for the NBA champions, posting a season-high 39 points, while team-mate Stephen Curry contributed 29 points and 10 assists.

The Warriors have now won 27 consecutive matches spanning back to last season, matching the second-longest streak set by the Miami Heat in 2012-13.

Indiana, who outscored the Warriors 40-20 in the final quarter, were led by Paul George (33 points) and C.J. Miles (24 points).

LeBron James made a welcome return to the court as the Cleveland Cavaliers snapped their three-game losing streak thanks to a 105-100 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

James was rested in Saturday’s defeat to the Miami Heat but the four-time MVP returned and scored 33 points and collected 10 rebounds for the Cavs, who rallied from 18 points down in the first half.

Damian Lillard had 33 points for the Trail Blazers.

In other results, Kevin Durant’s 32 points and 10 rebounds guided the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 125-88 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Brooklyn Nets downed the Houston Rockets 110-105 and the Orlando Magic trumped the Denver Nuggets 85-74, while the Utah Jazz lost 114-106 to the Sacramento Kings.
