Novak Djokovic dismantles Rafael Nadal to win Qatar Open

Novak Djokovic has started 2016 in style after he thrashed Rafael Nadal 6-1 6-2 in the final of the Qatar Open.

Last year’s tournament in Doha saw Djokovic suffer one of the few blips of his 2015 campaign but there would be no such occurrence on Saturday afternoon as he dismantled Nadal in their 47th meeting.

The world number one broke serve twice during an opening set which saw Nadal win just 13 of 41 points, and it was a similar story in the second as the Serbian continued to dominate.

Nadal was allowed just four points on Djokovic’s serve, and after two more breaks of serve, the 28-year-old was able to celebrate his 60th title on the ATP Tour.

The victory also marked Djokovic’s sixth successive tournament success, with his last failure to claim a trophy coming at the Rogers Cup in August.
