Cavaliers beat Clippers, Rondo stars Kings beat Hawks

The Cleveland Cavaliers recorded their 30th win of the NBA season after downing the Los Angeles Clippers 115-102 at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday.

LeBron James stole the show as he produced 22 points and 12 assists, with all four fellow starters contributing double figures.

Kevin Love (18) and 16 rebounds made a double-double, whilst Kyrie Irving (21), J.R. Smith (22) and all helped the Cavaliers upend the Clippers.

In contrast, Los Angeles Clippers were led by Chris Paul (30), as Jamal Crawford hit 16 from the bench.

The Clippers fall to 27-15 with the defeat as David Blatt’s Cleveland notch back-to-back wins.

Elsewhere, the Atlanta Hawks were beaten 91-88 by the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena, as Rajon Rondo hit his fifth triple-double of the campaign, with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Kings’ fourth consecutive victory sees Sacramento improve their dominant record in this encounter to seventeen straight wins.

DeMarcus Cousins top scored with 24 points and 15 rebounds, whilst Paul Millsap impressed with a double-double for the Hawks.

Marc Gasol made 27 points – including a go-ahead three-pointer with 12.2 seconds to play – as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Denver Nuggets 102-101.

Mike Conley helped himself to 20 points for the Grizzlies to improve his team’s winning streak to four games.

Danilo Gallieri top scored for Denver with 17 points but missed a 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left.

The New Orleans Pelicans convincingly beat the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, scoring 72 points by half-time on their way to a 115-99 win.

Anthony Davis made 32 points and Tyreke Evans collected a 22-point haul for the Pelicans as Detroit fell to their 20th loss of the season.

Finally in the day’s late action, the San Antonio Spurs eased to a 117-89 demolition of the Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Kawhi Leonard made 21 points and Boban Marjanovic supplied 17 in a convincing performance, as the Spurs made 38 in the final quarter to improve to 12 wins on the bounce.
