Warriors trash Knicks, Dirk-less Mavericks beat Suns and Clippers extend run

The Golden State Warriors recovered from a slow start to thrash the New York Knicks in the NBA on Sunday.

The 44-4 Warriors had just 18 first-quarter points before brushing past the Knicks 116-95 at Madison Square Garden.

Coach Steve Kerr was left frustrated early, breaking and throwing his clipboard.

He got the response he was after as Klay Thompson (34 points) and Draymond Green (20 points and 10 assists) led the Warriors to victory.

Carmelo Anthony starred for the Knicks with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

The Los Angeles Clippers had no such early troubles as they accounted for the Chicago Bulls 120-93.

Jamal Crawford’s game-high 26 points off the bench helped the Clippers to their fourth-consecutive win.

DeAndre Jordan finished with a double-double of 17 points and 20 rebounds.

Also extending their winning run to four were the Miami Heat, who overcame the Atlanta Hawks 105-87.

Even without veteran Dirk Nowitzki, the Dallas Mavericks held the Phoenix Suns to just nine fourth-quarter points in a 91-78 victory.

The Orlando Magic ended their eight-game losing streak with a 119-114 win over the Boston Celtics.

The Charlotte Hornets brushed past the Los Angeles Lakers 101-82 and the Portland Trail Blazers edged the Minnesota Timberwolves 96-93.
