Fenerbahce management initiated contract extension discussions with Osayi-Samuel on Thursday, aiming to secure his services amid potential changes at the club.
In a significant development from Turkey on Friday morning, the club’s hierarchy has reportedly reached an agreement to appoint Jose Mourinho as their next coach.
Mourinho, who is expected to guide Fenerbahce into next season’s UEFA Champions League, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Turkish giants.
Several Nigerian players, including Celestine Babayaro, John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, and Obafemi Martins, have previously played under Mourinho. The Portuguese manager, who left AS Roma five months ago, is set to embark on his 11th managerial stint.

Italy-based journalist Gianluca Di Marzio further confirmed that Mourinho is on track to take charge at Fenerbahce.
