Rosenior Slams Chelsea Display After Heavy Defeat to Brighton

Chelsea FC head coach Liam Rosenior has strongly criticised his players following their 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, describing the performance as “unacceptable” and impossible to defend.

The Blues were second best throughout the match at the Amex Stadium, falling behind early and struggling to respond. Chelsea failed to register a meaningful attempt until late in the first half and looked weak in defence, allowing Brighton to dominate and secure a comfortable victory. The result marked a fifth straight defeat without scoring, their worst run in over a century.

Rosenior did not hide his frustration after the game, insisting the team lacked effort and basic discipline. He pointed to poor defending, lost duels and low intensity as major problems, urging his players to take responsibility for their display. The home supporters also made their feelings clear, chanting against the team during the match as tensions continue to rise.

The defeat came in front of co-owner Behdad Eghbali and club officials, increasing pressure on the manager. With Chelsea now trailing Liverpool FC in the race for a top-five finish, their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League are fading.

Attention now turns to the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley, which could be crucial for both the club’s season and Rosenior’s future.
