Nigeria’s D’Tigress defeated in friendly against Germany ahead of Paris Olympics
Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, faced a setback in their preparation for the Paris Olympic Games, losing a friendly match against Germany.
The match, organized to help the team gear up for the upcoming Olympics, was held in SaarbrĂĽcken, Germany, where the team has been undergoing a closed camping exercise under the guidance of coach Rene Wakama.
The game against Germany proved challenging for the African champions. From the onset, Germany took control, leading 40-31 by halftime.
Despite efforts to close the gap, D’Tigress were unable to overcome Germany’s dominance. The German team maintained their lead throughout the third and final quarters, ultimately securing a 76-63 victory over D’Tigress.
The defeat highlights the areas needing improvement for D’Tigress as they continue their preparations for the Paris Olympics. The team will be looking to regroup and refine their strategies in the remaining days of their training camp in Germany.
