Victor Boniface reflects on his rise and silences Doubters
Victor Boniface has looked back on his journey, sharing images from his early days in Akure alongside his rise to the top level in Europe.
The striker, who was first spotted by coach Blessing Johnson as a teenager, has gone on to build his career across Norway, Belgium, and Germany, eventually starring for Bayer Leverkusen in their title-winning season.
Alongside the post, Boniface shared a message, originally written in Yoruba, reflecting on his journey and the criticism that came with it.

“Do you see the level I’ve reached? God did it.”
“I won’t bow my head to anyone, there’s a crown on my head.”
He also added:
“i’m never gonna look down, i carry my chin up”
Boniface also acknowledged his roots, bringing his former coach to Germany to celebrate his success, bringing his journey full circle.

As he works his way back from injury, that same mindset hasn’t changed.
