‘Go back to the the drawing board’ – Alloy Agu shares what Super Falcons must do after Brazil loss
Former Nigerian international Alloy Agu remains hopeful for the Super Falcons despite their 1-0 loss to Brazil in the opening match of the Paris 2024 Olympic women’s football tournament.
Agu praised the team’s performance despite the defeat. “The Super Falcons were impressive against Brazil despite losing 1-0. In football, it’s either you win or lose. And it’s so unfortunate that the team narrowly lost to Brazil,” he said in an interview with Complete Sports.
He emphasized the importance of learning from their mistakes and preparing for the next game. “With that result, we have to go back to the drawing board for them to see what they need to do well in the next game against Spain,” Agu stated.

Agu also highlighted the strength of the Super Falcons and stressed that they should not be underestimated. “Honestly, the Super Falcons are a team you can’t underrate no matter the team they play. Yes, they have lost the first game, and the next point of call will be how the team can bounce back against Spain.”
Looking ahead, Agu expects a tough match against Spain but is confident in the Falcons’ ability. “Spain has to prepare well because the Super Falcons will give them a run for their money. I am confident the team will get a positive result against Spain,” he concluded.
The Super Falcons will face Spain next as they aim to recover from their opening loss and secure a strong performance in their second group-stage match.
