Where and when will the 2024-25 NBA season kickoff?
The 2024–25 NBA season is set to tip off with an exciting opening night on October 22. The Boston Celtics, fresh off their 18th championship, will receive their rings and raise their new banner as they face the New York Knicks at TD Garden. The Celtics clinched the title last season after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in their season opener. The Lakers, led by LeBron James, will look to make a strong start against the Timberwolves, who are led by rising star Anthony Edwards.
In other highlights of the season, the Celtics will meet the Mavericks again on January 25 in Dallas and have a rematch on February 6 in Boston. This will be the first time the teams face off since the Celtics’ Finals victory.
Klay Thompson, who signed with the Dallas Mavericks this summer, will return to the Bay Area for the first time on November 12, making his debut against his former team, the Golden State Warriors.
Additionally, the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks, who both had disappointing playoff exits due to injuries to Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo, will start their new campaigns against each other on October 23 in Philadelphia.
