Kelechi Iheanacho may miss Sevilla’s La Liga opener due to registration issues
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho might miss Sevilla’s La Liga opener against Las Palmas on Friday due to registration problems.
Iheanacho, who joined Sevilla this summer after leaving Leicester City, is facing potential delays in making his competitive debut for the club.
Despite joining Sevilla on a free transfer, the club is struggling to meet La Liga’s financial requirements for player registrations.
Registration Issues
Sevilla have not yet registered Iheanacho for the upcoming La Liga season. The club currently has only one available slot for player registration, but they have two unregistered players: Iheanacho and Lucien Agoume. Given Sevilla’s need to bolster their midfield, Agoume is likely to be prioritized.

To accommodate both players, Sevilla would need to offload a player to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations. However, with only two days remaining before their season opener, this may prove challenging.
Previous Performance
Iheanacho made an unofficial debut for Sevilla in a friendly against Liverpool last weekend, where he showcased some promising moments despite the 4-1 defeat.
Sevilla are expected to resolve these registration issues and register all their players before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
