After his impressive performances at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Nwabali caught the attention of many top clubs, with Kaizer Chiefs being one of the favorites to sign him.
In an interview with iDiski, Nwabali explained how the move seemed likely but didn’t happen. “It looked like I was going to leave Chippa United, but it never happened,” he said.

He remained positive, adding, “I wasn’t too affected by it because that’s how football is. Sometimes deals work out, and sometimes they don’t. But as a footballer, you can’t let these things make you lose your value.”
Stanley Nwabali emphasised that even though he thought he might leave the club, staying at Chippa United hasn’t changed anything for him.
