PSG Vs Mbappe: French star gets victory in wage dispute

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Kylian Mbappe are in a serious dispute over unpaid wages. The French club has reportedly refused to pay the forward €55 million (about ₦97 billion) in salary and bonuses for the last three months of his time at the club.

Mbappe, who moved to Real Madrid during the summer, took the matter to the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) after PSG withheld his wages. The LFP’s legal committee ruled that PSG must pay him the unpaid amount, but the club has not complied with the decision.

PSG argues that there was a verbal “gentleman’s agreement” with Mbappe that they would not suffer financial losses if he left on a free transfer. However, Mbappe moved to Real Madrid for free, and PSG insists this justifies their refusal to pay him.

The LFP’s Advisory Joint Appeals Commission is expected to uphold the ruling in Mbappe’s favour. If PSG continues to refuse payment, they could face severe penalties, such as a transfer ban. Mbappe also has the option to take the matter to an employment tribunal to recover his wages.

The conflict between Mbappe and PSG remains unresolved, leaving both sides at odds over the unpaid amount.
