Super Eagles Midfielder Alex Iwobi Shares Tosin Adarabioyo’s Condition for Playing for Nigeria

Alex Iwobi, Super Eagles midfielder, has revealed what Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo wants before committing to play for Nigeria.

Adarabioyo, who recently joined Chelsea from Fulham, played in the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Newcastle. Although eligible to play for Nigeria due to his Nigerian heritage, the centre-back also has ties to England, where he played in his youth, and has not yet made a decision about his international future.

In an interview with Making of Champions, Iwobi shared his conversations with Adarabioyo about representing Nigeria. “He’s a great player, and I know his qualities, having played with and against him. We would love to have him on the team, but ultimately, it’s his decision,” Iwobi said. He mentioned that Adarabioyo is looking for a team where he can have stability and regular playing time.

“He’s happy at Chelsea, a big club, and as long as he’s enjoying his football, that’s what matters,” Iwobi added, noting that Adarabioyo is more focused on securing his position at Chelsea than deciding on his international career at this time.
