Nathan Tella aims for bigger role at Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella says he is ready to become a key player in Xabi Alonso’s team.
Tella played for Leverkusen in their impressive 5-0 win against Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. The Super Eagles star came on as a substitute in the 68th minute and played a part in the fifth goal of the match.
Although Tella has not had much playing time this season, he is determined to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup. The 24-year-old is eager to show his abilities and contribute more to the team’s success.
Speaking after the game, Tella shared his confidence about breaking into the squad: “It’s about being ready and taking my chances when they come. I want to prove I can be an important player for this team.”
Leverkusen are currently performing well under Xabi Alonso, both in the Bundesliga and in Europe. With competition for places in the squad, Tella knows he must keep working hard to earn his spot.
