Guardiola Relieved After City’s Victory Over Forest
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed relief after his team ended a seven-game winless streak with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
The win was crucial for the English champions, who have struggled recently with injuries and inconsistent performances. Speaking after the match, Guardiola said:
“We needed this win. The club and the players really needed it, but it’s just one game. Unfortunately, the problems with Manu (Akanji) and Nathan (Aké) continue.”
The injuries to Akanji and Aké add to City’s challenges, with key players like Rodri already sidelined. However, the return of Kevin De Bruyne provided a big boost for the team.
Guardiola praised De Bruyne’s performance:
“He fought hard. His minutes against Feyenoord weren’t great, which is why I didn’t play him at Anfield. But the minutes he played at Anfield were solid, and today, he gave us 75 fantastic minutes.”
City’s next challenge is against Crystal Palace on Saturday, where they will aim to build on this victory and climb back up the Premier League table.
