Victor Osimhen Agrees to Join Galatasaray as Napoli Negotiations Continue

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has given the green light to a sensational return to Galatasaray, with talks between the Turkish giants and Napoli intensifying over the payment structure of his release clause.

According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, Osimhen has made his intentions “very, very clear” to join the Istanbul club, while respected Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Galatasaray’s official offer of €50 million plus €5 million in add-ons.

However, Napoli are holding firm on their demand for a fee closer to the €75 million release clause, as negotiations continue behind the scenes. Despite this, Galatasaray remain confident, reportedly boosted by strong sponsor backing to help finance the move.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles star has already agreed personal terms with Galatasaray on a three-year contract, rejecting late interest from several major European clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool. Saudi club Al Hilal is also monitoring the situation and is reportedly willing to pay the full €75 million clause, but has not reached an agreement with the player.

Victor Osimhen scored his 17th goal of the season to help Galatasaray win 1-0 against Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

Osimhen’s decision appears rooted in his affinity for Galatasaray and belief in the club’s long-term project. He previously starred during a loan spell at the club, scoring 37 goals and registering eight assists in just 41 appearances, helping the team clinch a domestic double.

“He was convinced by the project Galatasaray are building,” said Buchi Laba. “He’s turned down more lucrative offers to return to a club where he truly feels at home.”

Despite sustained pressure from Napoli to remain in Italy, Osimhen is said to be adamant about his decision to leave, seeking a fresh chapter in a familiar environment. The move, if finalized, would mark one of the most high-profile transfers in Turkish football history.

The final hurdle remains the agreement between the two clubs. Galatasaray’s initial bid is on the table, and all eyes are now on Napoli’s response in the coming days.

Should the deal go through, Osimhen’s return would not only strengthen Galatasaray’s domestic ambitions but could also elevate their status in European competition.
