Juve, Al Hilal, and Galatasaray Compete to Sign Osimhen – Fabrizio Romano
Juventus, Al Hilal, and Galatasaray are the only clubs currently trying to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, according to well-known football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said that Manchester United are not in the race to sign the 26-year-old, despite many rumours linking the Premier League side with him.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said, “There’s still no progress in Manchester United’s interest in Osimhen, and I don’t expect anything to change soon.
“I keep getting questions from United fans, but right now, there are no serious talks between Manchester United and Napoli about Osimhen.”
Romano also confirmed that Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Turkish club Galatasaray — where Osimhen spent last season on loan — are both working hard to bring him in permanently.
“Al Hilal and Galatasaray are both in discussions to sign him,” Romano said. “Galatasaray are offering less money than Al Hilal, but they are still trying to make a deal.”
He added, “Let’s see how it goes. Juventus also made contact a few weeks ago, but right now, Galatasaray and Al Hilal are the ones pushing hardest.”
Osimhen’s future at Napoli looks uncertain, with reports of a poor relationship between the player and the club. Despite being seen as one of the top strikers in the world, no major European club besides Juventus has made a serious move for him this summer.
Many believe the lack of offers is due to Osimhen’s high wage demands and the €75 million release clause set by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Juventus are still interested but cannot trigger the release clause, which only applies to clubs outside Italy. According to Il Corriere della Sera, Juventus offered Napoli a swap deal involving their striker Dusan Vlahovic.
However, the deal never moved forward because Vlahovic refused to leave. The Serbian striker wants to stay at Juventus, especially since he is due to earn €12 million next season — making him the highest-paid player in Serie A.
Reports now suggest that Juventus are looking at ending Vlahovic’s contract early by paying him off, as they are eager to remove his wages from their budget.
