Including last season, PSG had not lost in 36 league games, winning 32, but their run was finally halted tonight as Lyon won 2-1 at Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Lyon took the lead in the 13th minute through Maxwel Cornet‘s firm strike before Sergi Darder doubled their advantage with a contender for goal of the season, looping the ball over a defender with his first touch before slotting home with the outside of his boot.

PSG, whose last loss in any competition was on November 3 to Real Madrid in the Champions League, quickly responded after half time through Lucas Moura‘s pinpoint left-footed strike, but the visitors could not find a leveller as Lyon held out for a valuable three points.

Lyon, who have won four of their last five in the league, climb up to third with victory, while PSG stay 23 points clear at the top.
