Ex-Nigeria U23 Defender Etboy Akpan Joins Crown FC in Fresh Start

Etboy Akpan has taken a major step towards reviving his football career after completing a move to Nigeria National League side Crown FC.
The right-back was confirmed as part of the club’s new signings for the upcoming season. He joins with clearance from Dynamic SPMD Football Academy, where he has been training and rebuilding confidence.
Akpan, was once seen as one of the country’s most promising young players. His early shine at Greater Tomorrow Academy in Uyo earned him the nickname Kaka due to his style and potential. He progressed to Akwa United, where he won the Nigeria Premier Football League title in 2021 and featured in the CAF Champions League. He also represented Nigeria at U23 level.
Personal challenges later slowed his progress. The move to Crown FC now marks an opportunity for him to restart and regain the form that once made him a standout talent.
Etboy Akpan joins Crown FC with hopes high that he can return to the level that defined the early years of his career.
As Crown FC prepare for their NNL week three clash against Abia Comets, Etboy Akpan was spotted by our reporter in training with the rest of the squad which also includes another former Akwa United star Samuel Akpan.
