Lionel Messi Sets New Record as Inter Miami Win Eastern Conference Title

Lionel Messi has reached a historic milestone of 47 career trophies after Inter Miami clinched the MLS Eastern Conference title with a 5-1 win over New York City FC.
The Argentine did not score in the match, but he was still central to the victory, providing an assist for Silvetti to record his 405th career assist – the highest in football history. The win also adds to Messi’s growing trophy list in the United States, taking his Inter Miami tally to three.
Messi, 38, has now won more trophies than any player in football history. His honours include six titles with Argentina, 35 with Barcelona, three with Paris Saint-Germain, and three so far with Inter Miami.
Allende was the hero on the night, scoring a hat-trick and sealing the win with a goal in the 89th minute. The dominant result confirmed Inter Miami as Conference champions and moved them one step closer to a first-ever MLS Cup triumph.
Messi and his teammates — including Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets — will now wait to find out their opponents for the MLS Cup final, with the Western Conference winner between San Diego FC and Vancouver Whitecaps still to be decided.
The final will take place on Saturday, 6 December, where Inter Miami will have the chance to lift the league championship for the first time in the club’s history.
