Mbappé reacts as Real Madrid drop points again

Real Madrid’s patchy run in La Liga continued with a 1–1 draw away to Girona, a result that now makes it three straight league games without a win. Madrid had control for large spells, but the familiar problem showed up again which is lots of possession, not enough end product.

Girona scored first just before halftime, catching Madrid’s defence flat. The response eventually came after the break when Kylian Mbappé won and scored a penalty to level the match. Madrid pushed for more, created a few half-chances, but never truly took control of the game in the way they needed.

After the match, Mbappé shared his thoughts on twitter now X. His message was short but clear:

“Absolutely not the result we wanted tonight. But the league is still on and very long. We need to change this dynamic and show who we are as a team.”

That pretty much sums up Madrid’s situation. They are not playing badly, but they’re not doing enough to turn good moments into wins. The dropped points have allowed Barcelona to move ahead in the table, and the pressure is slowly building.

Madrid will need to tighten up, finish their chances, and find some rhythm again. Mbappé is scoring, and that helps but the team around him has to step up if they want to stay in the title race.
