DR Congo Fan Who Honoured Patrice Lumumba Gifted Jeep After AFCON Fame

A Congolese football supporter who went viral during the Africa Cup of Nations has been rewarded with a remarkable gift after capturing global attention at the tournament.
Michel Kuka Mboladinga became an internet sensation after he was spotted in the stands standing still with his arm raised, paying tribute to legendary Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba.
His striking appearance and powerful gesture quickly made him a symbol of pride for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with many fans hailing him as an unofficial mascot of the Leopards during AFCON. Even though DR Congo were later eliminated from the tournament, Mboladinga’s dedication did not go unnoticed.
In recognition of his passion and the positive image he projected of the country, the Minister of Sports, Didier Budimbu, presented him with a brand-new Jeep. The gesture was described as a national honour for a fan who proudly carried the colours of Congo before a worldwide audience.
