Wade doesn´t ´plan on losing´ World Series bet to LeBron

Former NBA team-mates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have a wager going between the two for the MLB World Series and the latter does not plan on losing.

With the best-of-seven World Series tied at 1-1 as the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs bid to end their respective droughts, close friends James and Wade are watching on with vested interest.

Chicago Bulls guard Wade bet Cleveland Cavaliers forward James that the Cubs would beat the Indians.

If the Cubs win a first World Series since 1908, James must show up to the Bulls’ arena for the Cavs’ clash in Chicago on December 2 wearing the full team gear of the triumphant baseball team.

The same applies for Wade in an Indians uniform on January 4 if a Commissioner’s Trophy is sent to Cleveland for the first time since 1948, but the three-time NBA champion is bullish about the Cubs’ chances.

“I feel very good about being 1-1,” Wade said on Thursday.

“It was tough because we made the bet and they were up 1-0 right away. But we’re in a good place right now.

It’s your job to get your own [jersey]. But you got to come in looking like one of the players, for sure. I’m talking about glove, bat, whatever you decide.”

Wade, who won two NBA titles with James at the Miami Heat, added: “I haven’t thought about [the uniform] because I don’t plan on losing. We haven’t thought that far. We’ve got a little time before we play each other. But [the bet] is just something friendly.

“We’ve got two parts to the bet. That was one, the friendly one, that we thought was cool and then we’ve got another one where we send each other certain cases of wine depending on who wins or loses as well.”

Game three of the World Series is in Chicago on Friday.
