Jesus replaces Iheanacho in Manchester City´s Champions League squad
Gabriel Jesus who became the Manchester City player to score and assist a goal in his first Premier League start in their 4-0 victory over Westham yesterday has replaced Kelechi Iheanacho in Manchester City Champions League knockout stages squad.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola replace the Nigerian striker with the in-form Brazilian striker as he updates his squad list for the knockout stages of Uefa Champions League.
Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to play a single game since the arrival of the Brazil international striker having failed to make the bench on three different occasions since his arrival.
Although Kelechi Ihenacho remains eligible for selection as he meets the requirements to be named on UEFA’s ‘List B’, but it will difficult for him to get into the team considering he has Jesus, Aguero and Nolito ahead of him.
Kelechi Iheanacho has only played for 80 minutes in the Citizens last six games (subbed on 89minutes against Liverpool, started and played 46 minutes v Burnley, unused sub v WestHam, subbed on in the 62nd minutes against Everton, didn’t make the bench v Tottenham, in their win over Palace in the FA Cup and yesterday’s 4-0 bashing of Westham away from him.
Manchester City meet Monaco in the round of 16, with the first leg scheduled for February 21 at the Etihad.
