James Sutherland: India captain Virat Kohli doesn’t know how to spell the word ‘sorry’
Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland has joked that India captain Virat Kohli doesn’t know how to spell the word ‘sorry’.
Emotions have boiled over during Australia’s Test series in India, with captains Kohli and Steve Smith clashing on several occasions.
Star batsman Kohli was infuriated by Smith as he sought the advice of his dressing room while contemplating a DRS, and the pair have continued their feud throughout the first three matches.
Most recently, Kohli claimed the Australia players mocked India’s physio during the third Test in Ranchi – an accusation that left Smith bemused.
And when asked whether Kohli, 28, should apologise for his latest outburst, Sutherland told radio station FIVEaa: ‘I am not sure he [Virat] knows how to spell the word [sorry].’
The hosts hit back in Bangalore to level the series, before Kohli’s side failed to build on a promising situation to draw the third match.
The fourth and final Test takes place at Dharamsala on Saturday.
