How Barcelona pass on the chance to sign €4m rated Asensio but signed Turan, Vidal for €65m
Marco Asensio is now regarded by many as the most talented young player in the world because of his repeated impact in a star studded Real Madrid side.
But the ‘story of Asensio’ is a case of Real Madrid’s gain and rivals Barcelona loss.
It has been revealed that the Catalan giants failure to pay €2million to meet Marco Asensio’s then club valuation caused them a future star in the same season they signed Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal for €65million.
According to the report, Barcelona Chiefs stalled and looked to pay his fee in installments – €2.5million up front with €2million in add-ons but Real Marlloca wanted an immediate deal worth €4.5million in total.
Real Madrid stepped in and signed him to a six-year deal with a transfer fee of just €3.9million on December 5, 2014.
The attack has scored on his Real Madrid debut in Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Copa del Rey and La Liga scored in Real Madrid’s home and away wins over Barcelona in the Supercopa.
