Chongqing Dangdai Lifan: The level of competition in Chinese Super League is bigger than Andres Iniesta

Chinese Super League club Chongqing Dangdai Lifan have said no to Barcelona’s captain Andres Iniesta because of a bizzare reason.

The club has put a ‘no way’ to a potential Andres Iniesta move from Barcelona to the Chinese Super League because they they believe the player is inadequate for the level of the competition.

The club had set eyes on the Spaniard, but a departure to China after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, hasn’t captivated the local media.

According to an article published by ‘Chongqing Morning Post,’ the Blaugrana captain wouldn’t match the level and expectations of the Chinese football.

Moreover, the author pointed out that his playing style and age (to turn 34 after the World Cup), won’t fit the requirements of the league, which has lured more athletic players like the Brazilian, Hulk.

Chongqing Dangdai Lifan have recently dismissed their South Korean coach Chang Woe-Ryong to appoint the Portuguese Paulo Bento, as a sign of their intention to turn into a European football model.
