Europa League: Iwobi stroll into semi with Arsenal as Olayinka and Chukwueze crash out
The second leg games of the Europa League quarterfinal were played on Thursday and Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Peter Olayinka were all in action.
Alex Iwobi (Arsenal)
Alex Iwobi and his English club Arsenal secured a 1-0 away win to confirm a 3-0 aggregate win against Napoli to book their place in the semifinal.
A first half 35-yard free-kick from Alexandre Lacazette ensured an easy passage into the last four for Unai Emery boys.
Alex Iwobi was subbed on for the goal scorer Alexandre Lacazette in the 60th minute.
Arsenal will now play Valencia in the semifinal.
Peter Olayinka (Slavia Prague)
Conceding three early goals made the Slavia Prague fightback a difficult task. Slavia Prague almost pulled an upset at the Stamford Bridge but overcoming three-fold deficit became too big as they lost 4-3 in England.
Peter Olayinka came on in the 52nd to inspire his side but Chelsea maintained their lead to book their semifinal spot against giants killer Frankfurt.
Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal)
Going down 3-1 at home in the first leg meant the return leg was going to be an almost an impossible task, hence, Samuel Chukwueze who scored in Villarreal last game was rested on Thursday.
Samuel Chukwueze was subbed on in the second half for Villarreal as they lost 1-0 at Estadio Mestalla on Thursday.
