Solskjaer again reiterates why Ighalo is an important player for Man Utd

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer has again explained how important Odion Ighalo is to the team after their 2-1 extra time win against Norwich on Saturday.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer handed a rare start to Odion Ighalo in their FA Cup quarterfinal clash and the Nigerian did not disappoint his manager has scored his side’s first goal.

He was also involved in the second goal as Manchester United ran out a 2-1 winner for a place in the FA Cup semi-final.

An impressed Ole Gunner Solskjaer, said Odion Ighalo is an important member of his squad as he offers something different from what other strikers give.

The Norwegian also described Odion Ighalo as a poacher, goalscorer and strong striker.

“It is great to have the option to rotate,” he told BBC.

“Anthony Martial came on and did brilliant but Odion Ighalo gives me a chance to rotate and he is a proven goalscorer and played his part in both goals.

“Very important — I think Odion knows how much we value him in and around the dressing room, and of course on the pitch. He’s a goalscorer, a poacher. Strong, we can play the ball into him.”

The goal against Norwich City was Odion Ighalo‘s 5th in 4 starts, keeping his 100% goal scoring records whenever he starts for the Red Devils.
