Why Alphonso Davies is longer a starter at Bayern Munich- Hans-Dieter Flick
Bayern Munich manager, Hans-Dieter Flick has revealed the reason the club teen sensation Alphonso Davies is no longer in the stating XI.
The 19-year-old left back was the revelation of the 2019-20 Champions League after his remarkable displays helped Bayern Munich to their 6th title in August.
Alphonso Davies was particularly impressive against Barcelona and Lionel Messi contributing immensely from the flank in Bayern’s famous 8-2 win.
But since the restart of the new season he hasn’t enjoyed much playing time and his coach Hans-Dieter Flick has explained why the Canadian is on the bit part role.
“Alphonso’s form dropped a bit,” said Flick at a press conference ahead of Bayern’s Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday
“But he gets all our support.
“We benefit from his pace, his energy.
“It’s important he gets back on track.
“It’s a bit normal to see a young player go through such a spell following an incredible season.
“We will support and help him.”
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC academy graduate would have plenty suitors should he decide to leave the German champions.
