Nigerians abroad; Saturday Round-Up

Midfield anchor, Wilfred Ndidi was at his destructive best as Leicester City ended Manchester United’s away winning run of 10 consecutive matches with a 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium. Ndidi made 7 tackles, the highest of any Leicester City player in the Premier League this season, and won 10 of his 15 duels. Since his return from an injury sustained at the beginning of the season, Leicester City have looked like they have a solid spine once again. Meanwhile, his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho played no part in the game.

Rangers F.C Midfield dynamo, Joe Aribo played all 90 minutes of his club’s 1-0 win against Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership. It was his industry that helped to set up Kemar Roofe, whose cross found its way to Ianis Hagi, who scored the only goal of the game. Veteran defender, Leon Balogun also played his part in helping Rangers keep a clean sheet in the game. It was Rangers 12th consecutive win of the season, and it sent them a remarkable 19 points clear of second placed Celtic, with 20 matches played.

Forward David Okereke bagged his 3rd goal in 5 league matches for Club Brugge after coming on as an 80th minute substitute against Eupen. His 82nd minute strike made it 3-0 to his club, and that was his 4th goal this season in the Belgian Jupiler League. Countryman Emmanuel Dennis was left on the bench for the entirety of the encounter.

Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi was on parade for the whole 90 minutes as Everton laboured to a 1-0 win against Sheffield United in the English Premier League. Iwobi completed 6 take ons, more than any other player did in the game.

Trabzonspor forward, Anthony Nwakaeme was in action for the full 90 minutes as his club fell to a 2-0 reverse against Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig. It was his 11th appearance of the season.
