Aribo sublime, Balogun stars as Rangers win Old Firm Derby

Nigeria and Rangers F.C midfield maestro, Joe Aribo, was in sublime form as he helped his club defeat rivals and Scottish league champions, Celtic in their Matchday 22 fixture of the domestic season. Rangers extended their lead at the top of the league to 19 points after their 1-0 victory over old firm rivals, Celtic, in what was a closely contested encounter between the two teams, who seem to be moving in opposite directions.

Aribo was instrumental in scoring the lone goal as it was his header from a corner that was turned into his own net by Callum McGregor in the 70th minute. Leon Balogun also made a telling contribution at the back, making 2 tackles and 4 clearances to help his team keep a clean sheet.

Rangers have now won 20 of their 22 league games, including an astonishing 14 on the bounce. They look increasingly likely to win the league title, one that has evaded their grasp for the past 11 years. Celtic on the other hand are 19 points adrift of the top, albeit with 3 games in hand.
