Zaidu, Moffi Celebrate Portuguese League Triumph With Porto

Nigerian duo Zaidu Sanusi and Terem Moffi have won the Liga Portugal title with FC Porto after the club defeated Alverca 1-0 at the Estádio do Dragão on Saturday.

The victory confirmed Porto as league champions with two matches still left to play this season.

It is the second Portuguese league title for Zaidu Sanusi, who was also part of the Porto squad that lifted the trophy during the 2021/22 campaign.

For Terem Moffi, who joined the club on loan in January, it is his first major title with Porto.

Porto have enjoyed an impressive season, winning 27 of their 32 league matches and suffering only one defeat so far.

The title is also the club’s 31st Liga Portugal crown, keeping them as the second most successful side in Portuguese football behind SL Benfica, who hold the record with 38 league titles.

Although he has not been a regular starter this season, Sanusi made important contributions whenever selected. The left-back played 17 league matches, scoring once and providing one assist.

Moffi has also played a useful role since arriving from OGC Nice in January. The striker has recorded one goal and one assist in nine league appearances for Porto.

It is still unclear whether Porto will make Moffi’s move permanent at the end of the season, but the 26-year-old will now enjoy celebrating the first major trophy of his career.
