Enyimba stunned by Kwara United in rescheduled encounter

Elephants remain in 5th place

Enyimba FC faced Kwara United at the Ilorin Township Stadium in a rescheduled Matchday Two encounter with the prospect of going top of the log with a win in Ilorin. Kwara United had failed to win any of their three previous fixtures, losing once and drawing twice. Enyimba on the other hand came into the game on the back of two consecutive wins.

The home side picked up maximum points from the encounter with a 1-0 win. Making his home NPFL debut for Kwara United was Ex-Super Eagles and Enyimba goalkeeper, Dele Aiyenugba. Kwara United took the game to Enyimba from the first whistle and scored what turned out to be their winner as early as in the 5th minute of the game through Stephen Jude. Enyimba struggled to get going and could not find a way past Dele Aiyenugba in the Afonja Warriors’ goal as he kept his second clean sheet in two NPFL appearances for the Ilorin-based side.

The result ensures that Enyimba remain in 5th place on the NPFL log with 9 points, with Kwara United one point behind on 8 points up to 9th place.
