Daniel Akpeyi drags Kaizer Chiefs to CAF Champions League final

Amakhosi through to first ever CAFCL final

Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has helped his South African club Kaizer Chief to the 2021 CAF Champions League final.

Daniel Akepyi was in goalnand on the pitch for the entire match as the Amakhosi secured a 1-0 aggregate win against Wydad Athletic Club.

The second leg clash between Kaizer Chief and Wydad Athletic Club at First National Bank Stadium on Saturday ended in a goalless draw.

But Kaizer Chief made it to their first ever CAF Champions League final thanks to their 1-0 first leg win.

The Glamour Boys who had some of their players missing on Saturday due to COVID-19 and almost missed out but Daniel Akpeyi stood strong.

Wydad Athletic Club had seven shots on target but none found a way past Daniel Akpeyi.

The Nigerian put in a man of the match display after overcoming a nervy start that would have seen him gifted a goal to the visitors.

Daniel Akpeyi and Kaizer Chiefs will now play the winners of the other semi final clash between Al Ahly and Esperance.
