NNL: FC One Rocket held to 1-1 draw by Crown Fc
Fc One Rocket were on Friday evening held to a 1-1 draw by Crown Fc. The Nigerian National league Matchday Three encounter took place at the Training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo.
The home side enjoyed bulk of the possession in the opening stages but were unlucky to go behind in the 20th Minute when Daniel Meshack of Crown Fc beat the high defensive line of the rockets to slot past Goalkeeper Christian Nwoke from the rebound after his first had been saved.
The goal for the away side sparked sustained pressure by the homers who were guilty of missing several clear cut chances. In the 40th minute, Fc One Rocket got a deserved equalizer when Left back Pascal Onunze’s Curling effort beat the Crown goalie to restore parity. At the expiration of the first 45minutes, Crown Fc were the happier of the two with scores reading 1-1.
On resumption, Fc One Rocket poured forward In search of a winner. Fc One Rocket failed to find a way past the resolute Crown Fc defence. With few minutes to the end of the match, Fc One Rocket were awarded a Penalty after winger Abel Abbah was hacked down in the box.
Abel Abbah dusted himself up to take the Penalty but his effort was saved by the Crown Fc Goalkeeper. A golden opportunity wasted. Crown Fc stood Firm to ensure it finished 1-1 at the blast of the Referees whistle for full time. After three matches, FC One Rocket have gone full cycle with one win , one loss and one draw to amass Four (4) points. Crown Fc are yet to taste Defeat with one win and two draws summing-up to Five (5) points.
