Nigerian athletes will be in action today as the 2022 Commonwealth Games start today in Birmingham, England.
The team will be hoping to give their chase for a better podium placement in this edition after finishing 8th in 2014 with 36 medals and 9th in 2018 with 24 medals.
The 2018 edition looks like a decline from the total medal hauls in the 2014 edition and definitely, the goal is to better previous performances.
In the 2018 Common Wealth Games, Nigeria won 9 golden medals which came mostly from Para-athletes, Weightlifters, and Tobi Amusan.

All eyes will be on Nigerian athletes as actions start today at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
Aruna Quadri and other Nigeria’s Table Tennis athletes will start the bid to better the previous hauls by 4 pm Nigerian time.
Nigeria face Singapore and Ghana in the games to be played today.
Hopefully, at the end of the tournament, Nigeria will have a lot to cheer for.
