Ghana skipper Andre Ayew speaks of difficult moments and the future for dissapointed Black Stars
He started the tournament as hero when he scored Africa’s first goal of the 2022 FIFA World Cup but the journey ended in dissapointment as he missed a penalty in Ghana’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay in the final group game.
That defeat sealed Ghana’s elimination from the World Cup with many blaming Ayew for the loss. According to them, the outcome would have been different if he had converted the 21st minute penalty.
The Black Stars skipper has experienced it all in football and will understand the pains and reaction from fans in this kind of moments.
Ayew took to his social media account to give update on what has been a very difficult period for him and what he thinks the future holds for the Black Stars.

” Our final group match result was not what we were looking forward to in the tournament, but unfortunately it ended up this way,.
” I am very, very proud of all my teammates for putting up a wonderful team spirit on and off the pitch, for our country Ghana.
” Personally, it has been very difficult moments for me in the past few days. I lost my godson the morning before the Portugal game, and my daughter was also rushed to the hospital after the Uruguay. Thanks to the Almighty Allah, she’s getting better.
” This difficult moments will inspire me to come back stronger and better in the future, and so I believe, will the Black Stars.
