Odion Ighalo scores again for Al Hilal in a 3-3 draw at Al Wehda
To make it five goals in his last two games
Odion Ighalo was on target again for Al Hilal as they were forced to a 3-3 draw in a Saudi Pro League game at Al Wehda on Thursday.
The Nigerian striker grabbed the headlines a few days back when he scored four goals for Al Hilal in their 7-0 AFC Champions League win at Al Duhail.
And a few days after his incredible haul, he scored a classy goal for Al Hilal in the 6-goal thriller.
Al Hilal got a dream start away from home with Michael Oliveira’s 2nd-minute strike. The Brazilian celebrated the goal doing Cristiano Ronaldo’s siu celebration.
Oscar Duarte pulled back for the home team with a fine header from a free kick in the 24th minute to keep the scoreline 1-1 at halftime.
Six minutes into the start of the second half, Odiin Ighalo beat his marker who appeared to have pushed him into a fine cross from former prodigy Luciano Vietto.
Igahlo deftly scored with the outside of his right foot while still on the air to gift Al Hilal a 2-1 lead. It was his 5th goal in his last 2 games.
Six minutes after going behind, Al Wehda got their equalizer again through Anselmo. The 33-year-old Brazilian ensured Al Hilal’s mistakes at the back were punished.
A failure to properly clear the lines gift Anselmo a shooting chance and he took it with well.
Saud Abdulhamid scored in the 93rd minute to give Al Hilal the lead again, but Sultan Al Sawadi scored a very good goal to ensure points were shared.
Odion Ighalo now has 9 goals and 1 assist in 13 league games, one more than Cristiano Ronaldo who has 8 goals, and 2 assists in just 5 games.
