Messi’s Barca return could be counterproductive – Pique
Gerard Pique has warned his former club Barcelona against bringing back his old mate Lionel Messi to Camp Nou as it could be counterproductive.
There are rumours Barcelona are working on bringing back one of the greatest players in the club’s history, and the history of football.
His current club, Paris Saint-Germain are working on ensuring they keep the superstar who recently completed football winning the world cup with Argentina, but Barcelona also have plans of their own.
Barcelona who have repeatedly held meetings with the Argentine superstars might be the likely destination for Lionel Messi who is currently getting booed by PSG fans has refused a 40m euro contract offer.
It looks like all could be in Barcelona’s favour for a Lionel Messi return but Gerard Pique warns the move could be counterproductive.
“He knows Yuste and is a wonderful person who will always tell you what you want to hear,” Pique said during an interview with Gerardo Moreno.
“Forcing the situation, however, can be counterproductive. Things have to move naturally. If it has to be done, it will be done. When there is a desire on both sides, an operation in football can always succeed.”
