D`Tigers Mike Brown named NBA Coach of the Year
For his exploits with Sacremento Kings, Mike brown who doubles as Head Coach of Nigeria`s men Basketball team D`Tigers has been named NBA coach of the year 2023.
To win the award, Brown led the Kings to a 48-34 record in the regular season and led the Sacramento to a first playoff appearance since 2006.
The season did not start well for the Kings but with Brown’s real-mode, disciplined and inclusive Coaching style, things turned out so well with the Kings stars and role players alike. In the end he had succesfully led the once-struggling Sacramento Kings back to the playoff stage for the first time in 17-years.
Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla and Oklahama City Thunder coach Mark Daigneault were the other nominees for the award.
His achievement with the Kings was so significant that Brown became first-ever unanimous Coach of the Year award winner, when he earned all 100 first-place votes as announced on Wednesday.
Days earlier Grizzilies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. was named Defensive Player of the Year while KIngs guard D`Aaron Fox was named Clutch player of the year, the first winner new award category.
