Golden Eaglets star on FC Barcelona radar
Golden Eaglets star Yahaya Lawali is on the transfer radar of Spanish giants FC Barcelona following his performances at the U-17 AFCON.
Yahaya was on of the positive discoveries from the Nduka Ugbade tutored Eaglets who suffered a 1-2 defeat to Burkina Faso, to crash out of the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Algeria at the quater-final stage.
16-year old Yahaya Lawali was named player of the match as the Eaglets defeated Zambia in the opening group game and also in the 1-0 loss vs Morocco.
An ever-present part of the Nigerian side since the WAFU B Championship triumph, the youngster has impressed FC Barcelona scouts and they are considering a move.
According to AclSports, FC Barcelona are monitoring Lawali who is also wanted at French Ligue 1 clubs RC Lens, Olympique Lyon, and Strasbourg.
To underline his immense talent and performance at the 2023 U-17 AFCON in Algeria, Eaglets full-back Yahaya Lawali was named in the CAF XI for the group stage.
