Inter Milan edge AC Milan to reach Champions League final

Inter Milan edged neighbors AC Milan with a 3-0 aggregate score over two-legs to reach the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League final.

Despite the return of inspirational Portuguese forward Rafael Leao, AC Milan were unable to get the goals required to overturn Inter`s 2-0 aggregate advantage from the first-leg.

The Nerrazzuri were content bossing possesion in the opening half-hour to the frustration of Stephan Pioli`s men on Tuesday night at the San Siro.

Diaz tested Onana in the 11th minute before Rafael Leao drilled a low shot past the face of goal as Milan scampered for opportunities to score.

The second half was even more frustrating for AC Milan as the clock ticked away to the delight of Simeone Inzaghi and Inter Milan who were in no rush with a 2-0 cushion intact.

In the 74th minute, Inter Milan struck the fatal blow.

Substitute Romelu Lukaku helds up a pass from Lautauro Martinez to draw away the opposition defenders. The Belgian forward passed back to Martinez who took his time before shooting past beat Mike Maignan at the near post.

At this point it was almost certain Inter Milan have got the job done and will head to Istanbul where they will face Real Madrid or Manchester City in the final of the 2023 UEFA Champions League.

At the blast of the Referees whistle for full-time at the Guiseppe Meazza, it finished Inter Milan 1-0 AC Milan to sum a 3-0 aggregate score.

A first UEFA Champions League Final since 2010 for the Nerrazzurri, Milan fans will pray for another taste of continental glory.
