Tobi Amusan claims second successive win ahead of Worlds

World record holder wins meet in Hungary

100m hurdles world champion and record holder Tobi Amusan continued her fine form with a winning performance at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial Meet in Hungary as she continued to prepare for the World Championship. Fellow field star Ese Brume also impressed at the meet with a second-place finish in the women’s long jump.

Having set a new Meeting Record to win the Silesia Diamond League, Amusan returned to action days later in Hungary as she looks to get to top form for her world title defence.

She won the 100m hurdles event in an impressive 12.35s, beating American hurdler Nia Ali (12.41s) and Aleysha Johnson (12.50s) to top spot in the race.

Amusan will continue her preparations for the World Championship in Budapest which is scheduled to take place one month from now.

Brume finished second in the women’s long jump with a mark of 6.69m, behind Serbian long jumper Milica Gardasevic, who recorded a mark of 6.80m. The Nigerian will also continue her preparation for the World Championship and look to claim another medal this year.
