‘Defeating Enyimba in Aba is possible’ – Kwara United’s Ovoke Bernard declares ahead of NPFL WK7 clash
Ahead of their NPFL week 7 clash, Kwara United FC winger Ovoke Bernard has declared that ” defeating Enyimba FC in Aba is possible ” .
Ovoke, who returned to action for Kabiru Dogo tutored Kwara United FC in midweek is optimistic of a positive outcome in their next league match vs Enyimba FC in Aba.
The former Rivers United FC winger is part of Kwara United’s travelling contingent for the Nigeria Premier Football League week 7 clash scheduled to take place at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba on Sunday, November 4, 2023 by 4pm.
In an exclusive chat with SPORTSRATION, Ovoke said defeating the champions in their territory wasn’t an impossible task for the Afonja Warriors.
He said ” Ofcourse our target like in every other game is victory. We want to build on the performance from midweek and from I know defeating Enyimba FC in Aba is possible. ”
” To achieve that will not come easy, we will have to work and I trust we have the right players to make it happen.”
” They are league champions but we too are very ambitious and looking forward to getting points to set our season on track.”
On his personal input for the warriors this season, the skillful winger explained why he was absent until the substitute appearance vs Sporting Lagos FC in week six.
” I fell ill after the opening week and that kept me out of action until the midweek clash vs Sporting Lagos FC.”
” I am happy to be fit and available. It is now time to get the minutes and do my best to help the team achieve its targets, ” Ovoke Bernard said.
Kwara United FC sit in 12th place on the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League standing after six matches.
The Afonja Warriors have secured eight points, their last game a 2-1 comeback win over Sporting Lagos FC in Illorin.
After the week seven clash vs Enyimba FC in Aba on November 5, Kwara United FC will face Shooting Stars Sports Clun in week eight.
