The 2013 AFCON saw Nigeria, having qualified as Group C runners-up, facing a formidable Cote d’Ivoire side led by the iconic Didier Drogba.

The match, held in Rustenburg, remained deadlocked at 1-1 after Cheick Tiote leveled following Emmanuel Emenike’s opener. The Elephants launched a relentless attack on Stephen Keshi’s men, with Enyeama making crucial saves to keep Nigeria in the game.

The turning point came when Sunday Mba scored the decisive goal.
